Margie Perez grew up in the DC suburbs on a musical diet of classic pop and Cuban rhythms — the daughter of Havana-born parents who made sure she knew Celia Cruz and Johnny Pacheco just as well as she knew the Beatles. That mash-up became her signature: a genre-defying blend of Blues, Pop, and Latin music, all delivered with the funky, easygoing swagger of her adopted hometown, New Orleans.

Margie leads her own band showcasing original music, co-leads the high-energy Latin big band Muevelo, and fronts the smaller ensemble Margie Perez and Her Grupo Latino. She also lends her voice to a wildly eclectic lineup of projects:
